Congratulations Hamas - You finally put up some facts.
Let's see how long this will last.
"we cannot take part in any modern version of idolatry-be it worshipful gestures toward an image or symbol or the imputing of salvation to a person or an organization.

"identifying themselves with jehovahs organization is essential to their salvation.

this question was posed by yeru in another post.
i have no interest in getting involved in that post, but this is an interesting question.
supporters of the us feel that there country alone is on the moral high ground, and incapable of such an act.
Hasn't anyone heard of the Potsdam Declaration of July 26, 1945? The Japanese were clearly warned about the destruction that awaited them if they didn't surrender. Yes, the A-bombing was an extreme act. But the Emperor brought it upon himself and the people he brainwashed into treating him like a God-King.
The God-King waged a war in his name, and brought more than 3 million Japanese military and civilians to their deaths.
my computer is infected.
this is the name of the virus (worm?

Bozz,
Norton,Symantec, Trend and MacAffee are okay. But Bullguard is the best. I use it on my PC, haven't had any trouble since. You can get a free 30day full trial. Check it out!
instead of bringing out the negatives about being a witness, let's relate some good experiences!
i'll start.
i remember a sister that brought up all her kids up in the "truth" and her husband was very opposed but later he started studying and he even got baptized.
I remember when I was about 18, I used to go out with two JW girls who were also sisters (as in related). It was the best!
We used to go the Village for drinks with their gay brother. While he was talking to the older sister (the one I was supposed to be in a 'relationship' with), I would escort the other sister (man was she hot!) to the bathroom. We'd come out a half hour later as if nothing happened. Sure enough, by the time I got back, the older sister was tanked on vodka and ready for her turn! Their brother could've cared less since he was out on a manhunt anyway. I didn't have a drivers license at the time so they would drive me home afterwards. And there I was, stuck in the backseat between two drunk hotties - ahhhh those were the days.
.
today i found out through my ex sisters-in-law that my jw daughter, heather is engaged and will be getting married on september 21. i am not invited.. estee
Estee,
My ex-wife, a JW did the same thing to her father when we got married. But she took it one step further. She invited him to the wedding but didn't let him walk him down the isle (he was DF'd and divorced from her mother). Instead, her brother did it - and he was worldly! Not to mention he was a drug user and an adulterer (he was cheating on his wife at the time). Ironically, she wouldn't let me have my best friend participate as a best-man because he wasn't baptized?!
Though it may hurt, it's necessary to let family members discover the error in their logic in due time. In the case of my ex, she hasn't figured it out yet. Her father died a few years ago, now she's fighting with her step-family for the money he left behind.

just heard on fox news, un building in iraq, truck bombed about 1 hour ago.

Why do I feel like I'm sitting in a WT study again? Is someone passing microphones?
did you feel that you were made to become a witness through coercion, threats or other means?
if you did not feel forced to become a jw, why did you stay??
?
I was forced like every other teen in the Org. But I stayed because the action was amazing. I can't remember living a month without a hot sis' in my life.
finally i have found a curry paste that i love!
i love hot food and this curry paste makes any dish taste authentic.
i made some for my mom and she said it tasted just like it was from a restaurant.
Has anyone tried Vietnamese beef curry? There's a restaurant in downtown NYC (Nam Phong) with dishes that are so hot, some aren't included in the menu. You have to know the owner personally to order it. Even then, if you order it and don't finish your plate, the guy won't let you order it anymore. Now that's hot!
you can tell alot about a society by the way they act when the lights go out.
when the lights went out in iraq, looting was the first thing that took place.
not only did the citizens pillage hussein's palaces, they also destroyed each other's property as well.
Bigboi:
This is not the 17th century and certainly not WWII Europe. The self-destruction of Iraqi infrastructure couldn't stop the Americans in any way. The army has it's own corps. of bridge building engineers, they have their own water filtration/electrical systems and they also have night vision.
The Russians used the same tactic to stop the Germans from invading and capturing their cities. It did work. However, the Americans were not interested in 'invading' Iraq like the Germans when they invaded Austria and Poland. The objective of the U.S. was to destroy Saddam's armed forces and liberate the people - both have been accomplished. The U.S. has no interest in Iraq's infrastructure because the citizens need it more than we do. Obviously, Saddam's 'forces' couldn't fight like men, so they chose to destroy the property of their citizens instead.
